Mandurah and the 2016 Crab Fest

Did you know that Mandurah is the second largest city in Western Australia!

 It takes less than an hour to drive to Mandurah from Perth, so it’s perfect to drive down for a day trip and makes for a great family day out. Mandurah is a popular spot for tourist dues to the variety of wildlife like dolphin and pelicans, fishing and crabbing, sightseeing, beautiful beaches and a large range of restaurants to choose from.

Mandurah often hosts many events based around water attractions like the Mandurah Boat Show and the Mandurah Crab Fest. Both events are highly popular and provide attendants with useful information, the chance to sample some tasty food and wine, and entertainment.

 The 2016 Mandurah Crab Fest is taking place 19 and 20 March 2016. The festival is in its 18th year and has become Western Australia’s largest regional and free festival. Visitors make their way to the heart of Mandurah for this two-day festival to enjoy marvellous food, excellent wine, terrific entertainment for everyone and fireworks over Mandjar Bay. The food and dining element of Crab Fest includes a Long Table Lunch, local produce tastings, demonstrations and a barista competition. A number of new ticketed food experiences are now available, such as a Progressive Dinner Cruise and a High Tea under the iconic Moreton Bay Fig Tree. There’s 45 seafood dishes (33 featuring crab) on offer, as well as a great variety of meat and vegetarian options including lamb quesadillas, gourmet German sausages, braised lamb and tabbouleh. End your day at the festival with a fresh coconut or a refreshing icy pole.

Other exciting festival attractions include live entertainment across three main stages and two secondary stages, cooking classes, a children’s dress up competition, art workshops, En Plein Air art competition, licensed bar areas, giant sand sculptures, youth activities and water acrobatic displays.
