Our Favourite Things in Cottesloe!

Cottesloe Beach House Stays are delighted to bring you our favourite things about the beautiful seaside suburb of Cottesloe. Famous for its beautiful beach, this unique western suburb of Perth will also surprise you with a few hot spots that may go unnoticed. CBHS are happy to share our local knowledge and we hope that by sharing our tips and favourite things, guests can enjoy a richer and fuller experience of Cottesloe.

Our favourite picnic spot: Cottesloe Civic Centre
The Cottesloe Civic Centre is located behind the Town council, with large spacious lawns, playgrounds for the kids and bbq facilities. Opposite the Cottesloe tennis courts, the Cottesloe Civic Centre is a great place to take a book and chill out on the lawn or bring the family down for an evening picnic. With fantastic views out to the Indian ocean, the Civic Centre allows for great recreational facilities.

The Cottesloe Civic Centre even hosts the carols by candlelight each year! This is always a fun family affair at Christmas and makes for a more intimate local setting for such an event. Be sure to check it out!

Our favourite local bar: Elba

Elba is our local favourite for a few drinks through the week. With a diverse crowd and the options of alfresco dining, Elba is located on Napolean Street in Central Cottesloe (just down from the Cottesloe train station). There is a great relaxed atmosphere to the place, with some tasty wines and some amazing food! Napolean street has an array of boutique clothing stores and cafes that may go unnoticed if you do not stray east of the railway line

Our favourite activity: Whale Watching
Last year whales were spotted off Cottesloe from June through to August! Get your binoculars ready because they aren’t too close to shore, but you can make them out in the distance rising and falling in great splashes. Just keep your eyes and ears open because word usually gets out that whales are on the move. Join the locals lining Marine Parade in effort to catch a glimpse.

Our favourite running route: Marine Parade Loop
We love Marine Parade! It takes you past some fantastic cafes, awesome sculptures and the one and only Cottesloe beach. Marine Parade adjoins Curtin Ave at its south end (towards Fremantle) and finishes at North Street, with its distance approximately 3.6 km. The scenery is fantastic and make sure you pack your camera to snap a beautiful Cottesloe sunset.
